This online memorial was created in loving memory of Andrew Hayes, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website. Please sign Andrew's guest book and let us know you came to visit. We will remember Andrew forever.
I met Andy in 2004 and Fell in love with the man of my dreams. He had a zeal for God,Integrity,So handsome, and the moment we were together everything else just faded away.
The second time we met we were already talking about our wedding. Since we lived miles apart, he wrote me love letters and sent songs that i could listen to to feel close to him until we could be together again.
Andy ate pb and j for a whole month so he could have the money to drive every weekend to see me in nj....Spending all our time together,Slow dancing to our favorite songs on the side of the freeway,Having bible studies together, I knew i couldnt spend another waking moment without being near to him.
In one love letter he told me this was just the beggining and how true that was...Andy gave me a beautiful life filled with so much laughter and love and 2 gorgoeus children.
Never in our wildest dreams could we ever imagine the reality that was about to come upon us.
9 months pregnant with my daughter we recieved the news Andy had sinus cancer. They were able to do a simple surgery but it had spread to the brain and a few weeks after my daughter was born he had to have brain surgery...
The next year was a battle of the cancer spreading in the lining of the brain. Oh the torture my beloved had to endure...all kinds of different drugs, treatments, the constant waiting and never getting good news...the sickness, the rashs...But never once complained, never once blamed God.
In fact on days where he couldnt move he just listened to one of his favorite southern gospel dvds and just communed with God! He told me if one person can come to know our savior through this, It would all be worth it!
What a glorious day it was when I led one of my best friends to the Lord through His story and ran up to tell him,It was like 3 am but he didnt care all he could muster was a smile!
the cancer had spread to the spine where it affected his walking and we had to leave our home and friends and get some 2nd and 3rd opinions...There was nothing anyone could do...So we headed back to his home and It wasnt very long before The King of Kings took Andy to be with him forever!
In his last days with me by his side he would whisper to me he wanted worship and we had some friends come and sing and he just delighted in it.
Andy was such an inspiration to me...He was my best friend,my love, my mentor, and I hope the messages and writings of his that I post will inspire you to know what the meaning of life is? And thats to Love God with ALL your Heart , with ALL your Soul, with ALL your Mind, and with ALL your stregnth! (Mark 12:28-30)
